Ways of biodynamics
Biodynamic farming, what the h*** is this? I want to explain it on my own words. The internet may give you information about the topic, but often in a confusing way. For me it's a recovering of life forces on areas which have been treated in a very wrong way the last decades. You know when industrial agriculture came over, it was easier to produce for the farmers, but the food by itself lost ingredients and the caracteristic to give strength to the people who eat it. Becomes an area intact again so it will have a healthy soil which let healthy plants grow that produce all kind of healty fruit. If it's a grape or not, that does not really matter. Food changes from a thing which gives you just calories and added vitamines to something what feeds your soul. More a natural and little bit "back to history" product. Wine growing has a special status in biodynamic farming. The theory says that you will get more out of your soil, more terroir in the bottle. And this is for me what it's all about.
But there is a lot of stuff in this whole thing which does not sound very logical to me. For example to praise Rudolf Steiner, the founder of biodynamic theory, like a god. Some cite him exactly, do what he wrote and in fact misunderstand what he really wanted to say. He was a free minded person, a multi genius. People should act free minded too, refine/adjust his thoughts and not talking exactly the same by 100%. Keep in mind that there is a difference of 80 years when he lived and our time today. Mystic people love biodynamics, because you cannot measure every effect what brings it to us. But I am a practical working person. Not really interested in mystics. I don't need to measure or analyse everything. Numbers can confuse. I am satisfied when I can see, smell, feel and in the end taste the output of biodynamics on my ground. What I am also not doing is to work like a "cookbook cook": step by step from A to B and without noticing that B is not required and C would be the choice. That's what a lot of people do, to think that only a step by step big input of work is the real way. No it's not. Biodynamics does not need big input, it should "run" by itself. Nature shall work for me and it really does, slowly of course,....
